  • Why is the County offering this contest?

The Economic Growth Alliance (EGA) sees this contest as an opportunity to merge County data plus citizens' ideas and programming talent to create innovative applications to connect with government. We expect this combination of talent and skills to create innovative ideas and applications to connect citizens with government.

  • Why is the contest limited to only those who live, work or go to school in the EGA?

As members of the EGA, the County sees this as an opportunity to offer members of these communities a chance to create applications that will stimulate innovation within the community, promote the skills of the developer community in the region, and enhance government-to-citizen communication and information sharing.

  • How will I be notified if I am selected as a finalist?

The County will notify the primary contact who was submitted during the registration process by phone or e-mail.

  • If I'm one of the winners, when will I receive my prize?

Prize winners will be notified via phone or e-mail (primary contact). Prizes will be awarded by Oakland County and AT&T in August 2010.

  • What if a problem occurs with a County provided data set?

If a serious problem exists with the file, please report it through the Contact Us page. Please include the name of the data set and a description of the problem.

  • How frequently is the data updated?

The County does not intend to update data published, but may provide additional data sets.
