The judges will award first and second prizes based on the Evaluation Criteria. The winner of the third prize will be selected based solely on the idea, not a completed application. A third prize winner may be an application that was based on a great idea, but did not come in first or second place.
1st Place : Parcel Viewer - Tom Hoag
With this iPhone application, citizens can view maps and county provided information about properties, parks, etc. Additional information is available by selecting specific points of interest. The application also gives the user the opportunity to dial the phone number (if available) or retrieve driving directions to the selected points of interest.
2nd Place : Food Violations - Godfrey Nolan
With this iPhone application, residents can quickly tell if there have been any violations against restaurants they intend to visit. These violations can be critical or non-critical as defined by the Oakland County Health Department. While available now by calling the Health Department, the application makes this information more readily available by bringing the data to the consumer’s iPhone.
3rd Place : OMG Campus - Syagnik Banerjee
Oh My God (OMG) Campus is a web application that will benefit the 8,000 student campus community population of the University of Michigan Flint. It is a mobile website for helping all entities access real-time or crisis-related information such as exam deadlines, class cancelations, guest speakers, daily deals, etc.
